Most of our classmates chose movies that fall under the comedy genre. For example, White Chicks was selected by @Amber_Roach_ENC who said it was her favorite because “ it is hilarious and entertaining.” This movie appealed to more than just one person, @GibsonHolahan replied to her tweet stating that he almost chose the same movie as his favorite. In comparison @GibsonHolahan tweeted that his favorite movie was Anchorman, also a comedy. Another similarity is that these two particular movies came out in the same year(2004,IMBD) Looking at the rest of the tweets there is a recurring pattern in the year the movies came out and the genre with a few outliers. Looking at the audience that is tweeting we can see that they tend to not only select comedies but also movies made within the same time frames. This suggests that the tweeters are all around the same age and their favorite movies premiered in their childhood. This is probably because the movies remind them of their childhood and they have seen the movies more than once. Clearly our classmates enjoy to laugh and watch lighthearted entertainment. Our outliers included some classics and art films which gave some variety to the sample. We could assume that with a larger sample size we would have more variety which would include more genres than just the comedies that we saw today.
