Project Progress

Jen Phanomrat is a Tastemade chef who brings fun and inventive recipes to life. I chose to make her my pop culture icon mostly because she is hilarious but also because her genre is slightly different from the traditional pop culture icon.

So far the artifacts I have picked to analyse have been her Tastemade features, her Snapchat stories, and her Youtube channel. I have not made an outline in the traditional sense but I have organized my thoughts into a list of things I want to mention for each section that I am asked to write about. I plan to then turn those thoughts into a paper that flows. All I have left to do is connect my ideas.

I like the ideas of this project forcing me to define genre in a new way. The flexibility has let me pick a genre that I am truly interested in and that expresses who I am as well. So far the biggest challenge has been finding ways to analyse each artifact without repeating myself and making them sound like they are the same. In the same sense this is again making me think outside of the box so that I can effectivly communicate my genre breakdown to my audience.
